BodyWork Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a necessary part of keeping your body in balance.  It releases muscular tension and allows your body to move freely, countering the effects of stress, anxiety or lack of rest.  Real Training & Massage offers a range of BodyWork and Massage therapies, including;

Pressure Point Therapy
Pressure point therapy works through the body's meridian lines using the same points as for acupuncture.  Gentle pressure is applied to each point releasing tension and pain in the muscles and promoting circulation.

Common Benefits:
  • Stress and tension relief
  • Relaxation of the body and mind
  • Increased blood circulation
  • Aids in the removal of toxins
  • Relief from headaches, neck and shoulder pain
  • Promotes the healing of injuries
  • Increase in energy levels
  • Increase in overall feeling of well-being

Trigger Point Therapy

When a muscle is extremely tight or in spasm, a build up of lactic acid forms small contractual knots causing fatigue, stress and poor circulation.  The pain caused by trigger points in the muscles is often misdiagnosed as arthritis, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome or a number of other conditions.  They can also refer pain to other areas of the body along nerve pathways - often where the pain is felt isn't where the treatment is required.  Trigger points in muscles can pull on tendons and ligaments associated with the muscles causing pain deep within a joint where there are no muscles.

By applying pressure to these points deep in the muscles, tension and pain can be relieved and improved freedom of movement to joints can be achieved.
